This process enhances visual depth, emphasizes key details, and delivers a dynamic light reflection effect when viewed from different angles.
Spot UV can be applied thickly (raised UV) or combined with embossing to enhance texture, depth, and tactile appeal. This combination produces a striking light-catching effect, often used in high-end packaging and premium gift boxes.

Drip-off Coating is a special surface finishing technique that creates a distinctive contrast between glossy and matte areas on the same printed sheet, offering a visual effect similar to Spot UV. The process involves two steps: first, a matte coating is printed on the designated dull areas; then, a gloss coating is applied across the entire surface.
Due to the different surface tensions between the two coatings, the gloss coating “drips off” the matte areas, forming alternating glossy and matte zones. A key advantage of this technique is that it can be performed directly on an offset printing press, without the need for separate UV or screen-printing equipment—saving time and optimizing production costs.
3.4. Metalized Film Lamination – Full-Surface Metallic Effect
Metalized film lamination is a surface finishing technique in which an ultra-thin metallic film is laminated onto the paper substrate, followed by direct offset printing on the metalized surface. The reflective metal layer produces a uniform glossy sheen across the entire printed surface, creating a sophisticated metalized appearance.
When combined with white underprinting, this process allows for the creation of three distinct visual zones on a single printed sheet:
Unprinted area: Delivers a full metallic reflection, similar to traditional foil stamping.
White underprinted area: The metallic effect is completely masked, allowing printed colors to appear true and opaque.
Non-underprinted area: Creates a semi-metallic effect, where inks blend with the reflective substrate to achieve vivid tones and a subtle neon-like brilliance.

Compared with foil stamping, printing on metalized laminated paper enables more flexible and creative use of metallic zones and gradient transitions—offering enhanced design freedom for premium packaging applications.
